About me:
I have loved to create for as long as I can remember.
As a kid, I was always making something — drawing, "helping" my dad build/fix things around the house, putting on plays with my siblings, writing & illustrating books — anything that sparked my interest in the moment really.
Along with my desire to create, I had an intense love of being outside. I spent my summers playing sports with my brother and his friends, orchestrating archaeological digs in the backyard with my sister, and going on family camping trips. I even got my first "job" volunteering at our local nature center.
My grandpa(Papa) was an artist. I like to think I inherited a small piece of his talent. Art wasn’t really a central focus in my late teens and early twenties, but after he passed, I found my way back to it. Since then, it has become more than a hobby — it's a way to feel connected to him again.
I never really grew out of making handmade gifts for the people I love, and that’s actually how I discovered woodburning. I picked up a simple $12 woodburner from the hardware store to make a birthday present for a friend and it has been my medium of choice ever since.
Today, my work is largely inspired by my love for wildlife. Wood is my primary canvas, but I do still love creating in any form — whether that's exploring different mediums, or producing content, or building things with my hands. If it’s interactive and creative, I’m down.
